Scores of parents stormed into a Thane school on Thursday, demanding action against a teacher who allegedly struck a student, causing head injuries.
According to parents, the teacher had a history of using abusive language and encouraging students to boycott certain classmates over the past two years.
Parents were joined by local Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders and claimed previous complaints to the school management had gone unheeded. Thane-Palghar MNS chief Avinash Jadhav criticized the management's lethargic response and insisted the teacher must be removed from the school.
The school management announced on Thursday that the teacher has been barred from entering the premises and that a letter has been sent to the education department seeking her suspension and further action. MNS leader Jadhav stated they would file a case against both the teacher and the school management.
Videos showing the angry confrontation between parents, MNS leaders, and school officials quickly went viral on social media.
