The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea challenging the National Medical Commission's (NMC) decision to not conduct the NEET-Super Speciality examination this year. Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, along with justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, deemed the NMC's decision 'fairly equitable' and decided not to alter the exam calendar.
This decision follows a notice issued by the top court to the NMC on July 19 in response to a plea filed by 13 doctors, including Rahul Balwan.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Super Speciality (NEET-SS) is intended for doctors holding post-graduate degrees like MD, MS, and DNB, or an equivalent qualification, seeking admission to super-speciality courses.
