TMC MP Mausam Noor has issued a call for the central government to urgently reform India's admission and examination systems in light of increasing student suicides.

During a speech in the House, Noor cited the latest data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), revealing that students make up 8% of all suicide victims, totaling over 30,000 lives lost annually.

She emphasized the severity of the crisis, noting that 35% of suicides occur among individuals aged 18-30. Noor pointed to brutal competition, societal pressures, and the failure of the current system as key factors driving students to despair.
