Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on Saturday lauded former Chief Minister K Kamaraj for his developmental achievements and emphasized his strategy of engaging the Centre constructively. Speaking at Kamaraj's 122nd birth anniversary event, Ravi lamented the inability of Kamaraj's successors to maintain the developmental momentum.

Kamaraj's contributions, he noted, extended from launching midday meals in schools to advancing social justice and industrialization. Ravi credited Kamaraj with Tamil Nadu’s progress in literacy and infrastructure. Highlighting his harmonious interaction with the Central government, Ravi remarked, 'He commanded respect at every level.'

Reflecting on contemporary issues like the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy, Ravi suggested such incidents wouldn’t have occurred under Kamaraj’s leadership. He called for Kamaraj's life and achievements to be included in school curricula to inspire future generations.
