In a significant development underscoring India's rising global stature in emerging technologies, IBM Global Head Arvind Krishna met with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to explore strategic collaborations in quantum and artificial intelligence. This dialogue comes as India has positioned itself as a global leader with its recently launched National Quantum Mission, according to the Ministry of Science & Technology.

Both parties recognized the transformative progress India has made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, particularly in AI and next-generation technologies. Discussions included integrating geospatial AI solutions to enhance innovation across sectors, as highlighted in the government's official release.

Minister Singh reaffirmed the government's commitment to a technology-driven agenda, emphasizing its inviting stance towards private sector participation. Recent policy shifts, including opening the space sector to private investment and permitting non-governmental participation in nuclear energy, were cited as evidence of India's dedication to deep-tech innovation. Stressing global collaboration, he reiterated India's openness to partnerships, aimed at scaling up technological advancements globally. The Anusandhan National Research Foundation remains pivotal in supporting a robust research ecosystem, aligned with India's goal of achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

During the meeting, Dr. Singh emphasized India's prioritization of indigenous solutions and self-reliance in critical technologies. He asserted that India competes on par with, if not ahead of, other nations in the realm of emerging technologies. Additional support for these collaborations was pledged by Prof. Abhay Karandikar from the Department of Science and Technology.

The IBM delegation, including Sandip Patel, Kishore Balaji, and Amith Singhee, reiterated their commitment to deepening IBM's engagement with India's burgeoning tech landscape, marking a promising enhancement of technological ties. (ANI)
