Sa-Dhan, an RBI-promoted Self-Regulating Organisation, has made significant strides in increasing digital literacy through its Digital Financial Inclusion Programme across seven Indian states. This initiative, supported by HSBC, directly impacted over 57,000 individuals, with a broader reach extending to approximately 150,000 people—predominantly women from low-income groups.
Chandan Thakur, Sa-Dhan's Deputy Director, emphasized the program's success in empowering communities with digital financial skills. Conducted in mission mode, the training focused on enhancing awareness of digital finance services such as mobile banking and UPI payments. It aimed to reduce reliance on others for transactions and improve understanding of essential financial tools.
At a seminar in Mumbai, industry leaders discussed the paramount importance of digital inclusion in advancing financial accessibility nationwide. The event highlighted the programme's role in fostering economic empowerment and addressed challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth in financial inclusion.
