In a significant move, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the extension of the Metro Rail connectivity to the outskirts of the city, including Medchal and Shameerpet. The move comes as a New Year gift to the residents of North Hyderabad.
Reddy has directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports for the two new corridors, Paradise-Medchal and JBS-Shamirpet, covering 23 km and 22 km respectively. The reports are to be submitted to the Central government for approval.
The expansion is part of Metro Rail Phase-2 Part-'B', designed as a joint project between the state and Central governments, ensuring a seamless enhancement in urban transit infrastructure.
