A significant traffic disruption occurred on the Nashik-Mumbai national highway after a truck carrying foreign-made liquor overturned on Tuesday evening, according to local police.
The incident took place near Shahapur in Thane district, with the truck driver allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was detained shortly after at a location near Lahe village, approximately 80 kilometers from Mumbai.
The truck was transporting 940 boxes of liquor from Nashik to Mumbai when the accident scattered its contents onto the road, impacting traffic flow. Highway police managed to clear the truck and recover the boxes, while a case has been filed against the driver at the Shahapur police station. The driver possessed all necessary documents for liquor transport.
