The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), Bihar government, and Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) are joining forces to establish an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster in Gaya. An agreement was signed on Tuesday, placing this new industrial node within the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC).
Aligned with the 'Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi' vision, the project aims to spur economic progress while preserving Gaya's cultural heritage. Located 39 km south of Gaya International Airport, the 1,670-acre Integrated Manufacturing Cluster Gaya, holds an investment potential of Rs 16,524 crore and a project cost of Rs 1,339 crore.
Anticipated to generate around 109,000 jobs, the project will provide a significant economic uplift for the local area. The Gaya cluster is planned to draw industries from diverse sectors, including building materials, agri-food processing, and leather goods, among others.
Gaya boasts excellent connectivity, being just 10 km from NH-19 (Golden Quadrilateral) and 2 km from NH-22, with Gaya Junction (40 km) and the upcoming New Paharpur Railway Station (45 km) under EDFC, offering enhanced rail access. The development will also feature a 29.89 km internal road network.
Furthermore, the cluster will incorporate 'Plug n Play' infrastructure like a Common Effluent Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, and Water Treatment Plant, ensuring eco-friendly operations. (ANI)
