New Delhi [India], November 11: The book 'Play in the Joints: Tax Insights & The Play Continues,' authored by the esteemed tax lawyer Dr. Aseem Chawla, was unveiled on November 9, 2024, at the India Habitat Centre. The event was graced by Supreme Court Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, India's Attorney General R. Venkataramani, Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Varma, and Dr. Manoj Kumar, Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice.

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan opened the discussion with insights into the transfer of judges, emphasizing its necessity for judicial administration and suggesting improvements. Reflecting on his personal experiences, he highlighted how transfers enhance a judge's perspective, propelling them beyond provincial boundaries. His keynote covered the complex language of tax laws, which he cited as leading to increased litigation, and praised the book's comprehensive insights on India's tax landscape and economy.

Attorney General R. Venkataramani in his keynote, lauded Dr. Chawla's work and emphasized the enduring relevance of constitutional ideals and individual liberty in justice administration. Justice Yashwant Varma praised Chawla's expertise in international tax and his impactful observations on global tax challenges. Dr. Manoj Kumar underscored the necessity of drafting comprehensible statutes, encouraging public commentary for legislative improvement.
