Andhra Pradesh's Aviation Ambitions: Terminal Building Deadline Set
Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set a June 2025 deadline for completing the Rs 611-crore integrated terminal at Gannavaram Airport. With 60% of expansion already done, Naidu emphasizes a Kuchipudi-themed design for cultural reflection and plans five more airstrips across the state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has established a June 2025 deadline for the completion of the Rs 611-crore new integrated terminal building at Gannavaram Airport, also known as Vijayawada Airport. The directive was given during a review meeting at his Undavalli residence, attended by Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu.
According to an official press release, nearly 60% of the terminal's expansion work is already completed. Furthermore, the construction of the Rs 85-crore air traffic controller tower is 52% finished. These figures were presented to the Chief Minister during the review.
Highlighting the importance of cultural representation, Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the airport's design should reflect the state's heritage and called for Kuchipudi-themed architecture. Additionally, he announced plans for five new airstrips at strategic locations within the state.
