Satellite Healthcare Hub: AIIMS Expansion in Ghaziabad

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced plans for a new satellite centre of AIIMS Delhi in Ghaziabad, aiming to extend healthcare benefits across western districts including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, and Hapur. The announcement was made during the virtual All India Ayurveda Conference attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Highlighting the state's focus on healthcare expansion, the Chief Minister noted the establishment of two existing AIIMS in Gorakhpur and Raebareli. Adityanath emphasized that the new centre in Ghaziabad will bring Delhi AIIMS facilities closer to local residents. He also announced the launch of the Ayushman scheme for senior citizens above 70.
On the same day, Modi inaugurated and laid foundations for various health sector projects worth Rs 12,850 crore, including expansions at AIIMS Delhi. Meanwhile, Adityanath praised infrastructure developments in Meerut, including a new sports university under the ODOP initiative, expected to nurture future Olympians.
