The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has expanded its fleet by incorporating 20 new luxury buses under the Airavat Club Class 2.0 model, each costing Rs 1.78 crore. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who launched the new addition alongside Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy. They also toured the upgraded vehicles to assess the enhanced features.

In a compassionate move, KSRTC distributed significant accident relief compensation cheques to the families of two employees who died in service. Each family received Rs one crore. Additionally, family welfare compensation of Rs 10 lakh was awarded to the dependents of five employees who died from other ailments.

This initiative demonstrates KSRTC's pioneering role in employee welfare programs, a fact highlighted by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. He praised the corporation for leading innovations in the sector and lauded the Government's commitment to support its workforce. The new buses feature a 3.5% increase in overall length, granting passengers additional seating space.
