The German delegation is exploring opportunities in India's infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, aiming to reduce Germany's dependence on China. Scholz's visit comes as German firms like Thyssenkrupp bid for a significant submarine contract with the Indian Navy—a deal worth approximately $5 billion.
India and Germany are also in discussions over a free-trade agreement with the European Union. Both sides are optimistic about a swift resolution, provided sensitivities are maintained, despite ongoing challenges in the agricultural sector.
