In a move coinciding with the festive season, leading online food delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy have increased their platform fees in select cities. The hikes are part of routine business adjustments, according to Zomato's latest regulatory filing.
Zomato has confirmed that it raised the platform fee to Rs 10 in the national capital, a significant increase from the previous Rs 6. The platform fee changes are routinely varied from city to city, although Zomato did not specify which cities were affected or the extent of the increases.
Meanwhile, Swiggy has also reportedly increased its platform fee but did not provide a comment on the adjustments. Earlier, Swiggy had increased its fees to Rs 6 in June from Rs 5 in May. Both companies have yet to provide comprehensive details on their pricing strategies for other cities.
