Ahmedabad's vibrant literary scene took center stage at the 9th Ahmedabad International Literature Festival, where celebrated personalities from the world of literature and the arts convened to engage audiences. Singer and author Karan Oberoi's musical performance, alongside a closing ceremony headlined by festival founder Umashanker Yadav, left attendees spellbound.

The festival's inauguration featured a mesmerizing Kathak dance by Rachana Yadav and an enthralling Odissi performance by Serene Yadav, setting an upbeat tone for the cultural and literary extravaganza. In his opening remarks, Umashanker Yadav highlighted the festival's mission to foster meaningful societal change through literature and cultural discourse.

The festival saw influential voices like Niren Bhatt and Abhay K. discuss literature's societal impact, alongside panels on contemporary topics such as women writers and youth in literature. Notably, Bhagyesh Jha spoke on strengthening Gujarati literature. Over 50 speakers contributed to 20 thought-provoking sessions over two days.

Among the diverse events, six books were launched, showcasing emerging voices in the literary world. The festival also marked the unveiling of a Hindi short film and a Gujarati short film by SERENE FILMS, emphasizing the synergy between literature and cinema.

International participation from countries like Bangladesh and Hungary enriched the discourse on youth and literature's future. Thanks were extended to patrons, including Gujarat Tourism and cultural partners, for their support. Anticipation builds as the festival prepares for its landmark 10th edition in 2025.
