A goods train traveling towards Kundanganj collided with a cement sleeper placed on the Raebareli-Prayagraj railway line, officials reported on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 11 pm on Tuesday night, involving a train from Satna, Madhya Pradesh. It occurred between the Lakshmanpur and Daryapur stations near Benikama, as the driver applied emergency brakes in an attempt to avoid the obstacle.

Despite the driver's quick response, the train's cattle guard hit the sleeper. After removal of the obstruction, the train continued its journey. Meanwhile, the Railway Protection Force has announced a probe into the incident's circumstances.
