The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has inked a deal with PTC India to source low-cost power, including green energy, through power exchanges for the Namo Bharat corridor, according to an announcement on Monday.

This strategic partnership is set to help NCRTC meet part of its power needs by sourcing through power exchanges at various receiving substations (RSS) in Ghaziabad, Modipuram, Shatabdi Nagar, and Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh, as well as Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi. The move is aimed at reducing the overall power costs for NCRTC's high-speed regional rail project.

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, currently in phased commissioning, heavily depends on electricity to ensure its efficient operation. By partnering with PTC India, NCRTC aims to minimize energy expenses, which constitute a significant part of its operational expenditure. This agreement is a major step forward in NCRTC's strategy to implement innovative and sustainable energy solutions for its transport corridors.
