Vedanta Aluminium announced on Friday that it has complied with the government's order mandating BIS certification for wire rods and rolled products.

The regulations, introduced last year, aim to ensure quality control for aluminium and its alloys. The certification encompasses products manufactured at Vedanta's Balco facility in Chhattisgarh and Jharsuguda unit in Odisha.

'BIS certification for Vedanta Aluminium's wire rods and rolled products is a testament to our commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance,' said Chief Operating Officer Sunil Gupta. Vedanta Aluminium, a division of Vedanta Limited, produced 2.37 million tonnes of aluminium in FY24.
