Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) conducted its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) today at its headquarters in Lodi Road, New Delhi, with Chairman Shri Amarendu Prakash addressing shareholders via a virtual platform.

In his address, Prakash expressed confidence in SAIL’s future, stating, "Reflecting on the performance of the previous year and looking ahead reinforces my belief that we can aspire to be ‘Number One’ in our industry." He highlighted the significant boost in steel demand across sectors driven by the Indian Government's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, which aims to transform the country’s social, digital, and physical infrastructure.

Reviewing the company’s performance for FY 2023-24, Prakash announced that SAIL achieved record-breaking production benchmarks, with 20.5 million tonnes (MT) of Hot Metal, 19.24 MT of Crude Steel, and 18.44 MT of Saleable Steel—representing growth of 5.6%, 5.2%, and 6.9% respectively over the previous year. The company also recorded its highest-ever sales turnover of ₹1,04,545 crore for FY 2024.

SAIL is committed to maximizing capacity utilization and delivering the best value to its customers. "We will continue to engage with stakeholders, improve asset utilization, and proactively stay ahead of the curve," said Prakash, underscoring the company’s strategic focus on growth and operational excellence.
