Linc Ltd and Mitsubishi Pencil Co Announce JV to Revolutionize Indian Writing Instruments Market
Linc Ltd has partnered with Japan's Mitsubishi Pencil Co to introduce advanced pen technology to India. The joint venture, starting in January 2025, will leverage Linc's distribution expertise and Mitsubishi's innovation. Mitsubishi will hold a 51% stake while Linc will have 49%. Writing instruments manufacturer Linc Ltd announced Thursday a strategic joint venture with Japan's Mitsubishi Pencil Co, aimed at introducing advanced pen technology and producing customized products for Indian consumers.
The partnership will see Mitsubishi Pencil bringing its cutting-edge technology while Linc leverages its over 30 years of distribution expertise with Mitsubishi's 'Uni' and 'Uniball' pens across India. According to a regulatory filing, Mitsubishi Pencil will hold a 51% stake in the JV, while Linc will retain the remaining 49%. Operations are expected to commence in January 2025.
Linc Ltd Managing Director Deepak Jalan highlighted the collaboration as a means to offer advanced Japanese writing technology at more affordable prices, creating a synergy between innovation and market expertise. The joint venture will also target global markets and explore local sourcing of raw materials to reduce costs while maintaining high standards.
