During a three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with industry leaders to highlight the opportunities India presents on the global stage. Modi reassured US business leaders of India's commitment to protecting intellectual property and fostering tech innovation at a roundtable meeting with top technology industry CEOs in New York.

The roundtable, hosted by PM Modi, included prominent figures such as Adobe Chairman President and CEO Shantanu Narayen, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, AMD CEO Lisa Su, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. On the second day of his visit, Modi discussed ways to enhance collaboration in emerging sectors like Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

According to an official statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the discussions centered on the global tech landscape and its impact on human development and the world economy. The CEOs shared their companies' innovation strategies and showed strong interest in partnering with India. Modi emphasized the significance of initiatives like the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET) in the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Modi highlighted the mutual benefits and growth potential from technology cooperation between India and the US. In a social media post on 'X', he wrote, 'Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.'

Inviting companies to explore co-development opportunities in India, Modi pointed out India's rapid economic and technological progress. He outlined India's plans to become a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing and mentioned policies aimed at boosting biotech and green development. He also stressed ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

The CEOs reacted positively, showing a strong interest in increasing investments and collaborations with India. They acknowledged India's growing role as a global tech hub, supported by favorable policies and a thriving market. The roundtable ended with commitments to deepen partnerships and advance technological innovation globally. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Modi emphasized India's growth prospects during the meeting.

According to Jaiswal, 'PM @narendramodi interacted with top tech leaders and CEOs of the USA at a roundtable hosted by the MIT School of Engineering in New York.' In a separate meeting, Modi discussed expanding manufacturing and civil nuclear energy cooperation with Krishna Singh, founder and CEO of Holtec International.

The prime minister also attended the Quad Leaders' Summit in Delaware with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. On Sunday, he addressed the Indian diaspora in Long Island and will deliver a speech at the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly in New York before departing for India.
