Jingxi City's Salt-Baked Cashews Set Sail to Kazakhstan: A Milestone in Local Processing Industry

Jingxi City in China's Guangxi region has successfully exported its first batch of locally processed salt-baked cashews to Kazakhstan. The city's innovative development model, combining border trade and local processing, has fueled substantial economic growth. JINGXI, China, Sept. 13, 2024 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/-- Recently, Jingxi City in Guangxi marked a significant milestone with the first shipment of locally processed salt-baked cashews exported to Kazakhstan.

Over recent years, Jingxi City has expedited the adoption of a new development model that merges border trading with local processing. By utilizing the Border Economic Industrial Park, the city processes imported raw materials, subsequently marketing the finished products both domestically and internationally. The advancements in port construction and the establishment of a comprehensive trading system have streamlined the border trade process, fueling the transition of Longbang Port into a port economy and fostering a favorable environment for local processing businesses.

Currently, Jingxi City hosts 23 local processing enterprises engaged in border trade, with nine being major enterprises. The variety of processed goods ranges from cold-chain aquatic products to traditional Chinese medicine products. According to recent data from the Publicity Department of Jingxi City, the processed goods' value through Longbang Port hit 2.187 billion yuan from January to July this year, with a 157.94% year-on-year increase in local processing output among the top nine enterprises.

The local processing industry is being hailed as a new economic growth engine for Jingxi City, which plans to further support enterprises while honing the business environment to ensure seamless project implementation.
