Kazakhstan's Almaty city is set to host the 26th Annual General Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG) from September 9 to 12, according to a press release from the Kazakhstan Embassy. Over 150 executives and representatives from more than 40 depositories, exchanges, and clearing organizations will attend. The event is organized by the Kazakhstan Central Securities Depository (KCSD).
Kazakhstan Central Securities Depository Chairman Adil Mukhamejanov emphasized that hosting this large-scale event offers a unique opportunity to showcase Kazakhstan's investment potential and enhance the country's positioning as a regional investment and depository hub.
The event aims to facilitate the integration of Kazakhstan's and Central Asia's securities markets with international capital markets. Panel discussions will focus on economic growth, digital transformation, and improving market services quality. The meeting also seeks to strengthen international cooperation and share knowledge about the latest trends, Mukhamejanov added.
The ACG, established in 1997, includes central securities depositories from across the Asia-Pacific region to improve clearing and settlement efficiency. KCSD has been a member since 2007.
