Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday requested passengers on international flights to refrain from wearing 'khada' (a traditional shawl) or garlands during security checks.

Jagannath Niraula, General Manager of TIA, addressed the media explaining the airport's advisory aimed at avoiding potential issues with security equipment. The use of 'khada' and garlands can disrupt the function of X-ray machines, conveyor belts, and escalators, possibly leading to damage.

Niraula emphasized that passengers are permitted to carry 'khada' and garlands, provided they are placed inside bags during the security process to ensure smooth operations.
