Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, accompanied by Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated the new coastal road connector, describing it as a game-changer that will be extended to Bhayander, Virar, and Palghar in the future.
The new road, set to open for public use, links the Marine Line-Worli coastal road with the Bandra Worli Sea Link, allowing travel from Bandra to Marine Drive in just ten minutes, significantly reducing the current travel time of 45 minutes.
This development is poised to save time, fuel, and reduce pollution, as well as benefit the Vadhvan port. The project, a result of efforts by the Modi government and Shinde's administration, faced challenges during the previous Uddhav Thackeray government but has now regained momentum with 90% completion.
