A dispute has erupted between the Railway's commercial department and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) over the issue of illegal vendors operating within the Tundla section's railway premises, prompting the Prayagraj Rail Division to initiate an investigation.

The commercial department accuses the RPF of showing undue leniency toward illegal vendors, while the RPF claims that the commercial department is being overly harsh, even targeting authorized vendors. Commercial officers state that unauthorized food vendors compromise passenger health by selling contaminated products and should be removed from railway premises.

In response, RPF sources argue that some vendors are being unjustly penalized due to minor infractions like forgetting their licenses. The Chief Security Commissioner of North Central Railway, A K Sinha, has ordered a probe. The illegal vending problem at stations, including Tundla junction, not only poses health risks but also leads to petty crimes. A call has been made for a coordinated effort between RPF and commercial officers to address the burgeoning issue.
