Reliance Retail on Tuesday announced a joint venture with Delta Galil Industries, an Israel-based global manufacturer of branded and private label innerwear, aiming to enhance its presence in the apparel market.

The 50:50 joint venture will operate in various segments including intimate, activewear, loungewear, and denim for different demographics, seeking to transform the apparel landscape in India, according to a joint statement.

Delta Galil will support the JV in designing and manufacturing products for Reliance's brands. Additionally, new Delta family lifestyle stores and the Athena brand for men's and ladies' innerwear will be launched over the next 18 months.

Delta Galil, known for its innovation and superior products, aims to expand in the growing Indian market through this venture, offering a diverse range of intimate apparel and activewear across retail, wholesale, and digital channels.

Reliance Retail Managing Director V Subramaniam stated that the partnership is set to elevate consumer offerings in the intimate and activewear segments across their platforms. Delta Galil's CEO Isaac Dabah highlighted the venture's potential to leverage Delta Galil's expertise and innovation in these key product categories, expecting significant growth in the Indian market.

With a milestone of Rs 3 lakh-crore revenue in FY24, Reliance Retail aims to double its business in the next three to four years, as announced in its latest annual general meeting.

Delta Galil, established in 1975, manufactures branded and private label apparel for all demographics and markets brands like Schiesser, Eminence, and Athena. It also sells products under licensed brands including Adidas, Wolford, Wilson, Columbia, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, the holding company for Reliance Retail, reported a consolidated turnover of Rs 3,06,786 crore for the year ending March 2024.
