ITI Limited Secures Rs 300 Crore Order from Bihar for Solar Street Lights

ITI Limited, India's pioneering public sector unit (PSU) in telecom manufacturing, has secured an order valued at around Rs 300 crore from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA). The mandate involves supplying and installing 1,00,000 solar street light systems for the Bihar State Government.
This new venture falls under the 'Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana,' targeting the enhancement of rural infrastructure with sustainable energy solutions. ITI Limited's Naini Plant, renowned for its six-year history of solar panel manufacturing, will spearhead the project, which covers numerous districts including Gopalgunj, Siwan, Samastipur, Purnia, and others.
The execution, supervised by BREDA, will include key components such as Solar PV Modules, Solar Batteries, LED Luminaries, and Mounting Structures. ITI Chairman Rajesh Rai expressed pride in the collaboration, highlighting the company's commitment to offering best-in-class products and services. ITI Limited recently expanded its portfolio by securing its first order for Electronic Voting Machines from West Bengal's State Election Commission.
