An alert train driver successfully averted a potential rail mishap on Monday morning in Madhya Pradesh when he applied the brakes in time, preventing a collision with a stalled tractor on the tracks, a police official reported.

The incident took place at Guramkhedi on the Jabalpur-Itarsi rail route around 10 am, according to Gopal Meena, the officer in charge of the Pipariya Railway Protection Force (RPF) police station.

Meena praised the alertness of the Somnath Express driver, who stopped the train after spotting the tractor on the tracks. The RPF team promptly removed the vehicle, and efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the tractor driver.
