Mumbai-based pharmaceutical giant Wockhardt has strongly refuted allegations made by the Congress party, asserting the claims are unfounded and misleading in a formal filing to stock exchanges.
The company clarified it was unaware of any issues regarding rental payments made by Carol Info Services Limited or any SEBI orders related to the company. Wockhardt emphasized its adherence to all applicable laws.
Previously, Congress alleged that SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch might be in a conflict of interest situation, supposedly receiving Rs 2.16 crore in rental income from a Wockhardt-affiliated company being investigated by SEBI for insider trading, hinting at a possible quid pro quo. This claim was raised by senior Congress leader Pawan Khera.
