An Air India flight traveling from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam faced a bomb threat late Tuesday night. Authorities later confirmed it was a hoax after conducting a thorough examination upon landing at the port city's airport, according to an official report.

Visakhapatnam Airport Director S Raja Reddy disclosed that the Delhi Police received the threat call and immediately informed the airline and airport authorities in Visakhapatnam.

'The flight landed safely, and thorough checks revealed it was a false call,' Reddy told PTI, noting that there were 107 passengers on board. After deboarding and scrutinizing the aircraft, nothing suspicious was found. Meanwhile, boarding for the return flight to Delhi has commenced and it is scheduled to depart around 12:30 am, Reddy added.
