Cabinet Clears Rs 26,000 Crore Deal for 240 New IAF Aero-Engines
The Cabinet Committee on Security approved the procurement of 240 aero-engines for Su-30MKI aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for over Rs 26,000 crore. Deliveries will begin in one year and span eight years. The engines, 54% indigenous, will be made at HAL's Koraput division to boost IAF's operations.

The Cabinet Committee on Security has sanctioned a proposal to buy 240 aero-engines for the Indian Air Force's Su-30MKI aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Defence Ministry announced on Monday. The deal costs over Rs 26,000 crore.
According to a statement, deliveries of these engines will commence a year from now and will be spread over eight years.
This procurement aims to sustain the Su-30MKI fleet, a key asset of the IAF, and will include 54% indigenous content manufactured at HAL's Koraput division.
