A passenger train was halted on the Kasganj-Farrukhabad railway track near Bhatasa station after its engine hit a log, according to officials on Saturday.
No passengers were injured, but the train was stopped around 11:30 pm on Friday when the driver applied the emergency brakes, Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi informed. The log was removed, and the train then proceeded to Farrukhabad station. Railway sleepers near Bhatasa station were also found damaged, further complicating the scenario.
Authorities, including a forensic team, GRP, and RPF, have initiated an investigation. An FIR was lodged against unidentified persons following a similar incident in Kanpur a week prior, indicating potential sabotage.
