Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stressed the need for effective implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) during the inauguration of the new GST Bhawan in Udaipur on Friday. Sitharaman called for a positive atmosphere between officers and taxpayers to facilitate smoother tax procedures.

The minister noted that creating a convenient environment for taxpayers has been a priority since 2019, aiding in quicker problem resolution. This approach, according to Sitharaman, would help minimize the need for harsh enforcement actions and foster a cooperative atmosphere.

Sitharaman also highlighted the contributions of the cement, tyres, fertilisers, and mineral sectors to the GST revenue in the Udaipur region. She was joined by CBDT Chairman Sanjay Agarwal and MPs Manna Lal Rawat and Chunni Lal Grasiya at the event. Earlier, she visited the Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara.
