Canon Central and North Africa (CCNA) has officially launched the Canon Academy in Senegal, a transformative initiative designed to nurture and develop local photographic talent. This significant milestone was marked by a meet-up event on August 13th at the Kourtrajmé Dakar Film School, where Canon introduced the local photography community to its comprehensive educational program, cutting-edge products, and immersive workshop experiences.

A New Era of Photography Education

Canon Academy, known for its hands-on workshops and expert guidance, has already trained 85 students across Central and North Africa. The program offers a robust curriculum that blends theory with practical experience, covering essential photography topics such as the exposure triangle, composition, lighting, focus, and more. Certified Canon trainers lead the workshops, ensuring participants receive top-tier education and skill development.

The heart of the Canon Academy experience in Senegal was the hands-on workshops conducted on August 14th at Sup'IMax School (Institut Superieur des Arts et Metiers du Numerique). Led by Canon Ambassador Seibou Traore, these sessions delved deep into the fundamentals of photography, equipping participants with the skills needed to unlock their creative potential and elevate their photography to new heights.

Canon’s launch in Senegal is bolstered by strategic partnerships with two leading educational institutions: Kourtrajmé Dakar Film School and Sup'IMax School. These collaborations align with Canon’s corporate philosophy of Kyosei, which emphasizes living and working together for the common good.
