The 11th edition of the Ladakh Marathon, known for being one of the world's most challenging high-altitude races, is scheduled from September 5 to 8, 2024. Over 6,000 runners from across the globe will compete in six diverse categories, navigating a breathtaking yet demanding course.

PUMA India will enhance the marathon experience by providing Race Day Tees (RDT) and performance gear to participants. General runners will receive inner thermals, while 390 Ultra Category runners will get specialized gear including beanies, caps, upper thermals, and jackets. Commenting on the event, Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director of PUMA India, highlighted the brand's commitment to fostering running culture in India and providing quality performance gear.

The marathon's hallmark event, the Silk Route Ultra, spans 122 kilometers from the Nubra Valley at 10,700 feet to the Khardungla Pass at 17,618 feet, one of the world's toughest endurance challenges. This year, 68 elite runners will undertake this formidable race. Additionally, the Khardungla Challenge, which features 311 participants this year, reflects the growing popularity and global prominence of the event since its humble beginnings in 2012.

Chewang Motup, Founder and Race Director of the Ladakh Marathon, expressed pride in the event's evolution into a vibrant festival attracting participants annually. The marathon significantly boosts local tourism and fosters young local talent, with Ladakhi runners emerging as elite athletes. Notable among them is Jigmet Dolma, who has represented India internationally.
