In contrast, Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada seemed to have been taken against his will, leading Mexico's president to criticize the U.S. for inadequate cooperation. However, the embassy clarified that the plane, pilot, and personnel involved were not U.S. resources.

Additionally, the embassy noted that the flight plan for transporting the individuals from Mexico was not shared with U.S. authorities.
