On Wednesday, a bomb threat issued by a passenger during a security check at Cochin International Airport led to a two-hour delay of a Thai Lion Air flight headed to Thailand.

The threat, received during the Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC) at gate 19, prompted immediate action by the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC), which convened at 0200 hours and declared it non-specific.

Despite the non-specific threat, the committee ordered an aircraft check and SLPC for all co-passengers, causing the delay. The flight eventually departed at 04.30 am, and the passenger responsible was handed over to the police.
