Massive Boost for Assam: Guwahati Ring Road Project Approved

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving the Rs 5,729 crore Guwahati Ring Road Project. The project aims to decongest and expand Guwahati, having significant strategic importance for the region's socio-economic development.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the Union Cabinet's approval of the multi-crore Guwahati Ring Road Project.

Announcing the approval of the Rs 5,729 crore project, Sarma highlighted its strategic significance and its role in the decongestion and sustainable expansion of Guwahati. He stated that the 121-km Ring Road will serve as a crucial element for the North East's 'Gateway City'.

Sarma emphasized that the project would substantially boost the region's socio-economic development, describing it as a testament to the government's commitment to the North East. He added that the NDA's efforts since 2014 have made such large-scale projects achievable. Additionally, the Union Cabinet has approved eight national high-speed road corridor projects, totaling 936 km at Rs 50,655 crore, aimed at improving logistics efficiency and enhancing connectivity across the country.
