Mahindra Group Chairman Calls for Job Creation to Propel India's Economy

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra emphasized the importance of job creation for India's economic growth. Addressing shareholders, he stated that both the private sector and government must collaborate to generate employment, especially by leveraging new schemes. The company's investment and skill-building initiatives underscore its commitment to this cause.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has called on India's private sector to harness newly announced government schemes aimed at job creation and employment for fresh graduates. Speaking at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's annual general meeting, he stressed that economic growth must be driven by collective efforts in job creation.

Mahindra highlighted the crucial role of both the private sector and government in generating employment, referencing Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's emphasis on the issue in her Budget 2024-25 speech. He pointed out that increasing employment and skilling are key national priorities and necessary for leveraging India's demographic dividend.

He further added that Mahindra Group is committed to this cause, with a Rs 37,000 crore investment plan and ongoing skill-building programmes, particularly targeting female workforce participation. These efforts have already reached over 2.2 lakh women in the current financial year.
