India's garment exports from Bihar are witnessing robust growth, making the state a promising hub for new manufacturing units, the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) announced on Friday.

The AEPC has urged industry stakeholders to consider investing in Bihar, citing the facilitative policies and supportive business ecosystem in the region.

"Bihar has substantial potential in apparel manufacturing and exports," stated AEPC Chairman Sudhir Sekhri during an investor summit in Patna.

He noted that the apparel industry across major hubs like Tirupur, Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Chandigarh employs numerous skilled and semi-skilled workers from Bihar.

"The local availability of these workers will reduce manufacturing costs," he added.

Bihar Industry Minister Nitish Mishra emphasized the state's plug-and-play and attractive policy incentives for investors.

"Come to Bihar. We will provide all kinds of facilitation. Worker efficiency will increase when they are closer to home," Mishra assured.
