Dilushi Herath, a student from KIIT University, was announced as the national winner of the IET India Scholarship Award 2024. Her project, focused on using portable biogas digesters enhanced with nanotechnology to boost energy efficiency in healthcare, emerged victorious among 65,000 applicants. The awards ceremony took place at the IET Future Tech Congress 2024.
Herath's winning project is pivotal in transforming food waste into a sustainable energy source for healthcare, using nanotechnology to optimize digestion, increasing energy output, and enhancing biogas quality.
