State-owned telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) rolled out a series of tech-forward services on Tuesday, as announced by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. The seven new offerings include spam blockers, automated SIM kiosks, and pioneering direct-to-device networks, all advancing the accessibility and security in telecom.
A notable highlight is BSNL’s introduction of low latency 5G connectivity specifically designed for mining operations, a collaboration with CDAC, utilizing equipment manufactured in India. This venture underscores BSNL's commitment to domestic tech innovation and enhancing operational efficiencies in critical sectors.
BSNL's efforts correspond with its strategic mission to spearhead technological advancements, as emphasized by Scindia. By mid-next year, BSNL plans to establish 100,000 4G sites and prepare select sites for 5G, marking a significant stride in the nation’s telecom development.
