Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a state-of-the-art cybercrime command centre in Navi Mumbai on Friday, aiming to bolster online security across the state.

This centre is an outcome of the Maharashtra Cyber Security Project, designed to counteract the increasing number of digital frauds on platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook. Dubbed 'transformative' by Fadnavis, it promises to ease public concerns about cyberattacks.

The centre, equipped with cutting-edge technology, begins full operations on October 15. Alongside, a helpline—14407—has been introduced to assist citizens. The project also includes annual training for 5,000 police personnel to enhance the state's cybercrime tackling capabilities, positioning Maharashtra as a leader in tech-driven security.
