In a widespread disruption that left gamers around the globe frustrated, Sony's PlayStation Network went offline for several hours on Tuesday. Users reported being unable to sign in to their accounts, spurring complaints across social media platforms.

The PlayStation Network acknowledged on its website that certain services were experiencing issues. These included difficulties with logging in, creating new accounts, launching games, and accessing video content, the company reported. 'We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,' stated Sony, although a specific cause was not immediately provided.

The situation was monitored by Downdetector, an outage tracking service, which recorded a surge in reports of problems starting late Monday. This continued into early Tuesday with thousands of submissions. Fortunately for users, the outage was remedied by morning in the US. The PlayStation Network website confirmed the resolution with a message announcing, 'All services are up and running.'
