G42, backed by tech giant Microsoft and Mubadala, has announced plans to construct India's largest supercomputer, boasting eight exaflops. This powerful machine will perform millions of trillion floating-point operations per second, as revealed by a senior company official on Tuesday.

During an interaction with PTI, G42 India CEO Manu Jain shared that the company also launched a beta version of a Hindi language AI model, allowing users to converse in Hindi, English, and Hinglish. Reflecting on a recent visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Abu Dhabi, Jain highlighted the memorandum of understanding signed between India and UAE, emphasizing digital infrastructure development.

According to Jain, the MoU stipulates the establishment of a massive 2 gigawatt data center in India, the creation of the eight exaflop supercomputer in collaboration with Cerebras, and the co-development of AI models. While no timeline was provided for these projects, Jain expressed excitement about the launch of NANDA, the new Hindi language model. Andrew Jackson, Acting CEO of G42's group company Inception, believes this step will ensure AI inclusivity and represent the Hindi language's rich heritage in the digital realm.
