Government Greenlights Massive Semiconductor Unit in Gujarat

The government approved Kaynes' proposal to establish a semiconductor unit in Sanand, Gujarat, with a capacity of producing 6.3 million chips daily. The project involves an investment of Rs 3,307 crore.

Announcing the Union Cabinet's decisions, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the emergence of a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem in India.

The plant, spanning 46 acres, will principally serve Kaynes Industries but will also cater to the power, automotive, and home appliances sectors. Construction will commence shortly on the acquired land in Sanand.
