ITI Limited on Thursday announced that it has secured its first Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) order from the State Election Commission (SEC) of West Bengal, following a successful demonstration in Kolkata.

The state-of-the-art, multi-post EVMs, designed and developed by ITI Limited, adhere to the specifications laid out by the SEC and were approved by a standing committee of State Election Commissioners.

''These multi-post EVMs are versatile, suitable for Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, Corporations, and other institutions requiring democratic elections. They can also function as single-post machines for Lok Sabha or Assembly elections,'' an ITI Limited spokesperson stated.

According to ITI Limited, the EVMs will be manufactured in their factories, in line with technical specifications from the Election Commission. The delivery will be expedited to meet high-quality standards and deadlines set by the West Bengal SEC.

''We are thrilled to receive our inaugural order to manufacture EVMs for the West Bengal SEC. This milestone re-establishes us as a formidable technology manufacturer and places us among India's elite EVM producers,'' said Rajesh Rai, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited.

Rai added that ITI Limited is exploring business opportunities with other SECs across India to supply their high-quality EVMs nationwide.
