Ather Energy has announced a collaboration with Google to deliver real-time updates on the availability of fast-charging stations for electric two-wheelers, the company revealed in a statement on Wednesday.
The partnership will integrate the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), India's official EV charging connector standard, into Google Maps, allowing users to find 'Ather Grid' fast chargers with up-to-date status information.
As EV users search for 'EV charger near me' or 'charging stations'' on Google Maps, chargers compliant with LECCS will appear, and newly installed chargers will be automatically listed, facilitating a seamless charging experience. Ather Energy noted that they currently have 1,973 fast chargers available publicly, and the LECCS standard, approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards, aims to boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the nation.
